"My daughter was 2 years old when I entered her in her first pageant. I just wanted an excuse to buy a pretty, frilly dress. She loved it! She did not want to get off the stage! We continued doing pageants until Covid hit in 2020, which gave her 7 years in the pageant world. Being part of the pageant family was amazing! She would ask me, when is our next pageant? She loved making new friends, having new experiences and adventures with Mama. At the age of 5 she had the confidence to stand on stage with over 300 people watching her and give a speech. She still talks about pageants she has done, friendships she made and uses the skills she developed to have confidence in any situation. I suggest to any parents wanting to try it out to go for it! Treat it as a fun experience and just enjoy yourselves! Winning a title is not the goal. We are from Alberta and met Mikayla at a pageant out here where my daughter and myself had the privilege of reining with her as National Canadian Royalty, 2016. The fact that we are still family shows the strong bonds you will make with people. I am still friends with many of the other Mama's I met through our life in pageants." B. " I'm delighted to share our positive experience with natural pageants! Participating in these pageants has been a wonderful journey for my daughters. Not only did they gain confidence and develop exceptional public speaking skills, but they also formed lasting friendships and had an absolute blast along the way.
One of the things we appreciate most about natural pageants is that they don't require a hefty investment. We kept it simple, using headbands, shoes and affordable dresses from stores like Walmart. Occasionally, we even found great deals at places like The Bay or other local stores. A lot of contestants made their own costumes for the themed portion of the pageant. It's proof that you don't need to break the bank to participate and enjoy the experience.
What sets natural pageants apart is their emphasis on showcasing talent. My girls had the chance to exhibit their hobbies and skills, whether it was singing, dancing, or something entirely unique, like drawing. There is no limit. This creative aspect added a special touch to the competition, allowing them to truly shine.
Above all, natural pageants offer a safe and modest environment for children to flourish. It's heartwarming to see them grow in self-assurance and have fun while maintaining a respectful and wholesome atmosphere. "My daughter first joined pageants when she was young, around 6 years old. It allowed her to become more comfortable with public speaking and having all eyes on her. "My daughters have taken part in pageants since they were born! They are 11 and 9 years old now and I firmly believe that pageants gave them the confidence to always be themselves. They aren’t afraid to take on the world, from speaking and performing infront of crowds to just ordering thier own Starbucks drinks, they have the self confidence to speak up for not only themselves but others as well. They have learned not only how to win with grace but how to lose with grace as well no matter the event or sport they take part in. They have built friendships that have lasted thier lifetimes and continue to build new ones.
